Something is rotten in Boston. Patriots cheat. Now the Sox. I suspect they will forfeit a draft pick and get fined. Even with the cheating they lost 11-8 in the season series to the Yanks.
Dimeman, there is no evidence, none whatsoever, to suspect this is a widespread problem or even something that several Teams do. it is almost certainly an isolated thing. I will add that stealing signs in and of itself ISN'T ILLEGAL as long as it's by on-field players, like the guy on second base relaying to the hitter. an electronic device in the dugout by a coach is entirely a different animal.

I don't know one way or the other, but I wouldn't put it past anybody.
You have to be naive to believe all teams don't try to gain an advantage. The ones that do get caught should face the penalty if the rules are on the books. I actually never instood why stealing signs was such a big deal to begin with. It seems if the "code" was so easy to crack just come up with better signs. It's not like baseball is like golf or a gentleman's game. It's probably the dirtiest of all the major sports.
The Cleveland Indians have been accused several times of stealing signs. Maybe they are just better at not getting caught.
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
You mean to tell me a team was caught trying to steal signs from an opponent? Say it isn't so!
As for utilizing technology in this case, if Apple Watch was around in the 1970s, I'm sure Billy Martin and Sparky Anderson would have been using that, too, lol..

I always thought that was the goal. I thought the whole reason you gave signs and mixed them up was because you knew the other team was going to try to steal them. Was the Yankees catcher using flash cards that said fastball, curveball or change up?

It's been documented that stealing signs with technology has been going on since 1951. If baseball thinks it's that big of a crime let the Red Sox forfeit any games that the used this to their advantage. That would i discourage others from doing it or getting caught. It they take a pick way from them or hit them with a fine it's like a slap on the wrist and saying wink wink it's ok.

No way any games get vacated. I suspect there will be a fine and maybe a forfeited draft pick.

Then it would as I suspect. It's not that big of a deal. Just don't get caught and if you do it won't hurt that much
I also suspect that the Red Sox just aren't very good at stealing signs and imagine other teams that haveny been caught are obviously better at it.
