Canadian numismatics

I see this group of Canadian coins just graded: https://www.pcgs.com/Membership/sharedorder.aspx?OrderNo=21279130&Year=2017&Month=9
Nice trueviews, a northeast dealer showed me some Canadian sovereigns from the early 1900s in PCGS secure holders that he said were quite valuable. Is there any quick primer on which Canadian coins attract strong interest like this?

You should send this over to the world coin forum. There several Canada specialists who may be able to help you .
I don't think it's much different from US stuff. The keys are always desirable, the 1948 dollar especially,.....Things like the 1858 cent, the re-punched 1859's. Even the 1922 through 1925 cents are always popular.
I sense interest in Blacksmith tokens has risen.
Nice coins in that one!

Wow, a recent MS 60 grade assigned by PCGS. Now THAT is rare.
Yes, the Canadian coin market is very similar to the US coin market, not as large an audience clearly, but a strong contender.
Plenty of Rare Canadian Coins, Tokens and Paper notes that are worth a fortune.
Hard to start off on a single coin and one off all the best from the top here.

Beautiful coins btw @logger7 thank you for sharing,
A neat example of the 1935 $ is the Joseph Patenaude counterstamp. The J.O.P. Dollars, An optometrist, dentist, jeweler out of Nelson BC Canada That championed the Canadian government to mint Canadian Dollars in Silver using mined Canadian Silver boosting our economy and giving value to our dollars. Dr. Patenaude petitioned for many years until 1935 when the Canadian Government minted the first modern dollar in silver, Dr Patenaude is credited with being a driving force behind this decision. A jeweler of many talents he began proudly counterstamping dollars with his name J.O.P. and giving them out in change to his loyal customers. A fantastic history.

Love the "TWO HUNDRED CENTS" - "2 DOLLARS" dual denomination
Nice group there. The 1912 $5 looks especially sweet.
I just recently referred to the Krause North American Coin price guide on a Mexican coin, and would think it would serve as a guide for Canadian coins as well. Maybe someone else here can provide a better reference guide for those beginning to show an interest.

Great coins in Canada.
Unfortunately, the market is next to comatose.
50% of Canadian trends is what they're worth, then divide by 1.25 to get value in USD.
US dealers asking full trends in USD are completely delusional.
