Baseball Empty Wax Box Run

I've been working on runs of high grade empty wax boxes for all four sports for a long while now, mostly as an occasional side project. Main interest is late sixties through late seventies, though I would pick up older ones if both nice and affordable.
Thanks to some help from Kendallcat I recently completed a nice ten year run of Baseball boxes, so I thought I'd post some pics to celebrate.

Beautiful boxes and great idea!
You should fill them up with packs
Dave
Looks awesome and glad I could help out your box run.

Lol, a bit too pricey. I'm happy having a single pack for a given year.
Beautiful run of boxes, David! The colors and designs really pop!

A great collection there.
Very nice collection!

Nice. Are you putting form-fitted styrofoam inside of them so they keep their shape? I think that's the best way to do it. Griffins would know more. His empty wax box run goes all the way back to something goofy like '33 Goudey.
Almost all of them are structurally sound enough that they don't need to be filled. A couple that had been set up in the past I filled to keep the lid from sinking.
Very nice Dave.
I don't collect them as an intentional focus but do have some - those with players on them.
I can't find the pics anymore from the boxes but I've done many other things with shrink wrap and styrofoam board.
It's a great way to reinforce weak boxes - also the wrap allows handling without damage.
I've also done old cigarette boxes.
and bubble gum:
The shrink wrap kit with a bunch of wrap cost me around 50 bucks on eBay.
I checked and prices have gone up - more in the 80+ range - still a bargain IMO.
Very nice run of boxes. The colors are incredible.
Great looking boxes!!!
I would try and stablize the insides of the boxes the best you can before wrapping them as Mike suggested with styrofoam board or something similar so they keep their shape over time.

I built mine out with foamcore and then shrink wrapped them. Gave them a lot more eye appeal and much easier to keep clean.
They look great displayed.
