Without delving into my books it's a Queen Elizabeth the 1st coin from England.
So, 16th century or early 17th. What is its size?

16th most likely. She died in 1603.

I have doubts as to the authenticity of this one. The legend and edges look off.
Not an expert, looks good to me.
Why would a forger obliterate the portrait?
We do need an indication of size and weight.
That said, museums and touristy places in England sell loads and loads of coin reproductions. They are very popular.
Looks like it is supposed to be a Half-crown. Compare with the image below. I don't like the details (lack thereof) at all on the OP's coin.

to expand on BillDugan1959's post: Tower of London gift shop. There was a silver one also but I did not get a picture of it.
Yes, these kinds of things are everywhere. I got several copies of a nice coppery reproduction of an Antoninus Pius coin. Probably intended to resemble a sestertius. There was a 'copy' stamp on the reverse, and the piece would have complied with the USA Hobby Protection Act. Purchased at The Ashmolean Museum gift shop, Oxford.
Working to get weight and size, pics were texted to me. Thanks to all for the help! Regards, RJ
If genuine, it would be 17th century. The mintmark, 1, would date it to 1601.
Thanks to all for help
