Question on photos?

I do not know how to add a poll so I will just ask the question.
Do you prefer a white black or other background for your photos?

Depends on the coin.

Depends on context. Looking at the coins alone, I prefer black. For eBay, I prefer white, as it blends in better. For my calendar, I use a darkish blow-up of part of the coin. I've done some in "Penny Whimsy Green" (the color of the cloth binding on the book) as well.

I like neutral gray. Black is second choice.
@messydesk Could you post some examples?
I have only used Black. I might have to find out how to use other backgrounds.
I prefer a photo on red velvet, but this is my personal preference.

White.
The NGC black holder failed for good reasons.
Lance.
The eye tends to like complimentary colors...
That is why bright red or orange copper colored coins and gold coins look great on a blue background.
And for a bright white silver coin, they look best to most on a black background.

When I did my 1908-S Indian Cent Grading Set Poster, I did a blue background... just looked better than black with all of the copper coins... again, complimentary colors

I collect copper, and I've gone with shades of blue and occasionally grey and dark green. I'm still not sure which I prefer. At this point, I'm still working on proper lighting as that seems to be my biggest challenge.

Black or white background all depends on the coin for me. With copper I always use a white background, most everything else is a black background.
I like black.
@ironmanl63 asked, "Do you prefer a white black or other background for your photos?"
My website provider and I selected a white background for my Numismatic website.

The coins look much like they do here with the white background in the PCGS Forum. I specialize in better quality early U.S. silver coins and the contrast of a toned silver coin with the white background really seems to work well.

On the other hand, these Seated Dollars from an old time collection don't look too bad raw and in an old Wayte Raymond "dark tan" (background) coin board! Although I still prefer a white background for toned early silver coins....

Black, always .
Black.
It depends on the piece but my general preference is black. It just looks very classy, especially on an even larger black background. I like clicking on the following image and viewing it in Chrome with a larger black background.
White just appears cleaner. I avoid watermarks or any other distractions.
Thanks for all the opinions on this. A lot of different ways to showcase your coins.
