2 different card stocks used on 1970-71 Topps Basketball?

I just bought a complete set of 1970-71 Topps basketball and noticed cards numbered up to 110 or so have white backs and the higher numbers have more of a darker or cream back. Is this common with this issue? Are the higher numbers available with white backs?
