Re-grade / Potential Bump Questions

Gents,
I have never submitted cards for review and hoping for some help re fees: Note: my cards are mostly 8s and trying to get 8.5s. Questions:

  1. Re insurance - does paying for the 8.5 value insurance impact the review grades at all? If I pay for 8 value insurance are they willing to give me 8.5 at a much higher value?
  2. Do I need separate submissions if values cross thresholds of $500 and above and under?
  3. Does sending in 5-10 8s help the chances to get bumps - all things being equal - or is that just psychological?

Many thanks for guidance

Steve

    1) subconsciously maybe, but you are supposed to pay for the cards current state. A raw card is raw priced and a graded card is graded priced. If they have to "level you up" you will get a call.

    2) Yes. You can submit 10 cards on the same shipping insurance back submission if they all fall under $500. If you have 2 cards that are above that and require a higher submission rate, then those must have separate shipping back (submission insurance). *all can be packaged in same shipment to them - organized correctly.

    3) again, subconsciously maybe. *If we are submitting some rough 8's and then a stellar 8, it also plays into that same thinking even more than your 10 equal 8's example.
-I think if they are fair, the card would be bumped regardless. This does not factor in grader of death and individual opinions, and is assuming same grader on the same day looks at your one card or your ten.

    Thank you - v helpful.

And, I can submit reviews under the Monthly Specials?

Yes, if they have a 25 card special and your reviews fit into the guidelines for everything they can be on a special instead of the $18 standard rate. They also can be bulk rate all the same.
