Help with an Elizabeth I hammered coin

I am not sure what denomination this is. The weight is 1.2 grams and from what I understand, that's between a half groat and a three pence.

Any ideas?

For size comparison, it's in a quarter sized staple up. (US quarter)

Edit- I commented without reading where you'd posted the weight and diameter. Was going to guess sixpence, but based on what you said about the size and weight, I'll guess halfgroat.

From what I've noticed, it seems these smaller denominations were the only Elizabethan coins that were actually dated. Unless there are exceptions I am unaware of, none of the shillings and above were. (That is just my random observation that is probably unhelpful and perhaps flawed. Hey, you're welcome. Any time!) ;)

I believe you're right about the dating on the coins. I like that it has a date! :)

Looks to be a threepence. All Elizabeth halfgroat are undated.
