He was already an accomplished final four type of coach. His compensation including the booster's golden handshakes was $150,000. Today, underperforming Sean Miller receives in the $5,000,000 range, all in.

Player's salaries in that time have not budged.....still at $0

    Was surprised reading about Lute's compensation. He maxed out at a bit under $1,000,000 when he retired a decade ago. He was offered more from other schools but liked Tucson.

    Some people don't place money at the top of all other considerations. Maybe he was where he wanted to be.
