Can you remove scratches from Capital plastic?

AUandAGAUandAG Posts: 24,929 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm thinking the "proof set" holders (5 or 6 coins) (2x6"). If so, what do you use and what is your method? Easy peasy?

thanks,
bob

    Automotive scratch remover
    I use GS-27, for example.
Buy the grit according to the severity to remove.

Try P21-S as a "finish." It is a very delicate Paintwork cleanser used on very expensive cars.

I use Meguiars Scratch x 2.0 on slabs. I assume it would do the same on Capitol holders.

It's a hard acrylic plastic like PCGS slabs. The softer plastic NGC uses is the harder (pun intended) one to polish.

I asked once about scratched NGC and was told to use some NOSE GREASE!
    Hey, it worked. :)

    Not severe scratching though.

plastX, auto parts store. Good for fogged headlight covers as well.
