I can take the League A spot, if still available.

It looks like my long-running league that I participate in is withering on the vine.

    Mike,

With all due respect, Commish, and I apologize if this is how we've always done it (I sure don't remember it being that way) but isn't 30 seconds a wee bit short between picks? Whatever u guys want to do, I just was thinking that any computer lag at all and you're just about screwed.

  • grote15grote15 Posts: 29,726 ✭✭✭✭✭

I believe default is 90 seconds to draft. Where do you see 30 seconds?

I got an email that Mike changed the settings last night. The league settings also appear to reflect this

    30 seconds is crazy short..

    Really?

I'd be happy with 60 seconds between picks. You should have a rough idea of the 3-4 players that will be there when it's your turn pick.

Mike has now changed the interval to 45 seconds.

If people autodraft then the picks are immediate, and most guys submit their picks rather quickly...not sure why the interval was changed to 30 seconds and 45 seconds so late in the process.......it should be a minute at least.

If most guys submit their picks quickly, wouldn't 45 seconds be good enough? I did a mock draft and 30 was short. I felt like I needed another 15-20 seconds at times. So 45 seems pretty fair for me.

  • wrestlingcardkingwrestlingcardking Posts: 4,555 ✭✭✭✭

Most guys don't take a minute but there are a few rounds mid to late where it is nice to have time....the thing is, most people submit their picks quickly but I'd rather have the time instead of being in a situation where there is an auto pick in a round or two....

45 Seconds is the perfect time for Yahoo. In a 14 team league you have a lot of time between picks that you should have a solid idea of a few people you are targeting each time.

  • tonylagstonylags Posts: 572 ✭✭✭

looks to be a competitive league; I had several players stolen right in front of my eyes. Nice draft all. I'm psyched for football :p:p

Our league B is pretty competitive and these last few weeks will decide the playoff's. Just curious, How about you guys in League A? Anyone running away with it or dominating?

Seems every year in League B we have 9 or 10 folks going into the last couple weeks who are still in it. Crazy how competitive we always turn out to be.

  • brendanb438brendanb438 Posts: 1,595 ✭✭✭

Bump. Team USSR sneaks into the playoffs due to the bloodbath that was the Steelers vs. the Bengals. I managed to win against the team with Bell & Mixon playing last night by like 4 points. Living here in Cincinnati and working about 2 blocks from the stadium is always intense during the 2 AFC North games between these two teams, especially since I am a Steelers fan and everyone at my work knows it.

  • tonylagstonylags Posts: 572 ✭✭✭

nice win brendan; I was watching closely and when Mixon went down I thought you might pull it out. NICE JOB; maybe I get my revenge in the playoff's.

Yes, it is truly amazing how competitive this league has been. Only 3 points separate the 1st round bye and only 7 points separate making the playoffs & not making the playoffs!

Dang, my guys showed up to play a week too late. First time in the playoffs in a few years so I'm happy. Good luck to the guys in the championship round..
