What an incredible set break in the new PWCC Hockey auction.

******Disclaimer. I once owned a 1951 Parkie hockey card. I sold it. The current oldest hockey card I own is 1970. ********

Some one is breaking Their 1967 Topps Hockey Set. 41/ 132 in PSA 10. WOW!!!!!

An amazing opportunity for some but what a shame this set is being split. Nice work if the owner is here.

I'm working on a 1955 Topps All-American Set in PSA 7. It's taken me years and I really enjoy the process. It's the only fully graded set I ever started.

I always wondered what motivates someone to break a set they took a long time to put together. Even if it is for the money, wouldn't a complete set go for more?

I don't know but I would think that you would maximize a very high end set like this one by breaking it. If it was a mid grade set perhaps keeping it intact would be best.

I'm debating this myself right now. I have a '79 Topps Hockey set that is my leftovers from my registry set. It's made up of half grades cards all 8s with two 7s and a few 9s. The raw cards are all equally as nice. I think It would just about be even between breaking and selling individually in my case.
