SGC 88 to PSA 8

Like to get some feed back from anyone who has crossed over from the dark side. The card in question is a SGC 88, a 1960's Baseball HOF.
I would crack out of SGC case, have experience, and submit raw to PSA .
I am completing a Topps Baseball set and the rest of the cards are PSA so don't want a SGc, but can get a good deal on it.
What are my chances of getting a PSA 8?
Thanks in advance !

Depends on the card. Do you have a scan?
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I cropped out the SGC case to see the card better, but the corners are somewhat covered, NOW with pictures
One of my best crossover's was a Fred Lynn rookie SGC 88.
I cracked it out and got a PSA 9.
I knew it was undergraded, so like grote said it all depends on the card.
All depends on the card, I too have 88 turn into psa 9s. And psa 7s.

stupid print dots
I have sent in three SGC cards to PSA for crossover, one 88 and two 96s. All three crossed to the same grade. The cards were two 1954 Red Heart cards and a 1961 Topps All Star card. Look the card over and if you thing it will cross, send it in.

NOW with pictures !!!
Nice looking card. Definitely worth sending in, imo.

A bit of glare around corners so I can't see perfectly, but overall I don't think you'll have an issue crossing. Very nice card. Keep us posted.
That yaz looks great.
I have sent in cracked psa cards to gai and they came back trimmed.
So I agree with the above. Grading is a crapshoot.
IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED
I think it looks better than my PSA 5 which I can't seem to download for some reason.
OK, here we go:
Good Looking 5
I once crossed a McCovey rookie, SGC 88 to PSA 8. I left it in the holder. Sent in several,, set minimum grade PS8 8. Some crossed, some did not.
2 1 MG: MINIMUM GRADE 1951 Topps Red Back 21 Larry Jansen Card
3 1 MINT 9 1951 Topps Red Back 15 Ralph Kiner Card
4 1 MINT 9 1951 Topps Red Back 6 Allie Reynolds Card
5 1 MINT 9 1951 Topps Red Back 12 Jim Hegan Card
6 1 MINT 9 1951 Topps Red Back 51 Eddie Robinson Card
7 1 MG: MINIMUM GRADE 1951 Topps Red Back 52 Tommy Holmes Boston in Bio Card
8 1 MINT 9 1951 Topps Red Back 10 Mel Parnell
This is the only cross over attempt I have done. All were SGC 96s that I bought form a Set break one year. 5/8 crossed
That Yaz looks like a serious candidate for a PSA 8. I would certainly go for it. I have had success cracking and submitting from SGC to PSA. Cracked a SGC 96 Abdul Jabbar and it came back a PSA 9 and have done others that have come back the same or a 1/2 grade higher. I did have one bad crack and submit with a SGC 88 Johnny Bench IA. It was not a strong SGC 88 so I was expecting a PSA 7 as a real possibility and it came back a PSA 4. Must have been a small wrinkle that went unnoticed. Good luck and keep us posted on how it turns out.
handyman, I would along with the rest of the gang, LOVE to see the Kiner and Reynolds at least! Awesome c&r!
Looks like perfect centering on the reverse.
