Ebay returned item question

I bought a 86 Fleer basketball Chris Mullin from an eBay seller in February. Seller has 100% feedback. I received the card and inspected it and thought it looked fine.
Sent it to PSA in late March/early April and sub popped recently. The card was returned ungraded and deemed "recolored." upon closer inspection I can see the red ink slightly bleeding through the cardboard.
Do I have any grounds for a return based on the time that has elapsed? I have already contacted the seller and he believes too much time has went by. Do I have any recourse or no? Disappointed

Contact ebay. I guess it really comes down to what they think seeing they'll be the ones making the the seller return your money if they think you have a legitimate complaint/case. You have PSA's proof that the card was altered so that should be in your favor regardless of time. You can always blame the time on PSA too.
Did the original auction photo have the red bleeding visible? That might help your argument.
I have this link bookmarked after i had a problem with a sale. This should save you going to look for it.

I think Paypal gives you 180 days to file a claim. You may want to check into that.

I would side with the seller on this one, it's been almost 6 months...I have had this happen on a hard drive, the buyer bought it, but never tested it and then when he needed it, almost 5 months later, he says it doesn't work (it worked perfect here). Me as the seller, I'm thinking, I had sent him 2 hard drives, maybe one of them died and was trying to get a refund after the fact. I think 30 days is quite fair, anything above that, why should I as the seller be on the hook for it..But I suspect you may be able to go after a refund via Paypal as eBay may not be the option, you have 6 months with Paypal to submit an issue. I guess think how you would react if you were the seller and you had a buyer ask you the question...Unfortunately with eBay, it brings open a whole new can of worms, did the buyer do a swap on me, heck, did the buyer put some red marker on it to make it look better...Just my humble opinions that will probably get me into trouble

I may be hoarding too much 80's junk wax but I like it!
And as they say, "the seller is always correct!"

It is the buyers job to inspect and accept or return the card within the given ebay returns timeline.
The timeline is 180 days via PayPal.
Too many shenanigans can happen under Paypal guidelines. If you buy a hot rookie for $100, then next week he tears a hamstring, while high on cocaine, trying to run out of a married womans house when her hubby comes home, the card drops in value. Should the seller pay for the drop in price? Sorry, but anything after 30 days is unfair to the seller for any reason.
100% agreed. It is nearly impossible for sellers to prove returns abuse for this reason, but it does happen and makes the hobby less fun.
Paypal 180 days refund policy is simply too long. Too much room for abuse.
Absolutely agree, however, it's unfortunately not the way the Ebay/Paypal system is set up.
