Excited to be Back!

Hey Guys!

I hope everyone is doing well. I just recovered my CU password and fired up the old account. Looks like my last post was around 2009, so it's been a while. I got out of collecting altogether in 2010, but in the past few weeks decided to hop back into the sports card world.

So, what have I missed during the past 7 years? Top 3 industry changes? New helpful tips?

Thanks everyone, I am super excited and look forward to getting back into some great discussion. I collect vintage baseball, graded and ungraded, also have a soft spot for minor league. I may change it up a bit this go around.

Welcome back amigo. Here's my top 3:

    1. Unopened collectors have finally won the war against the rippers - too expensive to rip 70's anymore.
    2. Prices on premium vintage are way past the highs achieved pre 2007-2009 economic downturn. Commodity stuff like Griffey RCs didn't see anywhere near the spike of the premium stuff.
    3. People who collect new stuff are liking the new stuff as much as always -- rookies like Judge, or trout, or Kris bryant are great for the hobby.

    Thanks Mike!

I have noticed prices on vintage seem to have risen overall. I was checking out some completed listings and could not believe some of the prices I was seeing on cards I used to collect. I am very glad to see it though, and that new stuff is doing well. Probably the strongest I have ever seen this industry, which has me really excited.
