Mexico or 'other' Spanish Colonial?

The label says 'Mexico' but I thought the Mexico City mint began coining in the 1530's.....What am I missing? (not my area)

    That appears to be a Real from the reign of Carlos I and Joanna of Spain. With Carlos' name spelled "Carolvs", it appears to be a late series coin minted between 1546 and 1556. It appears to me that PCGS simply was mistaken in the year range.

    Also, Carlos I didn't even become co-regent with Joanna (his mother), until 1516 (he was also Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor). He was born in 1500.
