China Shanghai flight delayed by woman hurling coins at jet engine
Here's a new use for coins:
A China Southern Airline Guangzhou (Canton) bound flight was delayed for more than five hours at Shanghai International Airport on June 27, 2017.
The culprit was a woman in her 80s, who was just trying to keep everyone safe.
Another passenger saw Qiu behaving strangely around their plane as they boarded, throwing a handful of coins straight at the jet's engine.
She did it, it turns out, with a little prayer for good luck, hoping to bring herself and the other passengers in for a safe landing at their destination.
As for Mrs. Qiu, police pulled her aside and asked some questions, but they let her go without filing any charges, and there's no indication she will be blacklisted for her well-intended coin toss.

But extra stupid coin toss that could have really had some bad consequences...
Well, just Love coins, period.
I heard about this from many sources. I am glad that there was another alert passenger who spoke up about this, because that could have spared a tragedy. I am glad that the elderly woman did not get charged, but hope that news of this incident spreads far and wide in hopes of educating the masses.
