Help deciphering antique Asian symbols?

I know this isn't a coin related item but I honestly don't know where else to ask. I am hoping someone here is familiar with antique Asian symbols and can translate or even make sense of what this means. This is a silver hairpin from China? I assume it's old because it looks like it. If anyone can help that would be great. I would love to know what I have and any information anyone can present. Thank you!

My Chinese wife says the following:

    • Yes, a hairpin
    • She thinks the enscription on the back is the maker
    • She says that this is very common in China because there are so many counterfeit pieces (need expert to assess)
