Unopened baseball pack questions

Hi,

  1. Are there any years besides 1973 where the wrappers were different for each series?
  2. For years where the wrapper is the same, 1970 for example, is it normal for pack collector's to try to get an example of each series?
  3. Whats the hardest series/year of any 70's era packs to find?
  4. Which year has the most resealed packs?
  5. Why does PSA use the holder they use? Isn't the GAI holder design superior for packs and cellos?

The wrappers were not different for each series in 1973. A given box contained a mix of all four designs.

But other years where there were several different wrapper variations (not involving ads) include 1972 and 1973 football.

Wrapper variations for different series were common in the early 1970s, often due to the insert in the packs. 1970 & 1971 were two examples.

Even after the all series format was instituted by Topps in 1973, there are different wrapper variations for 1974, 1976 and 1980, too.

I would say wax packs from 1971 are the toughest to find.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

1.'67 and '68 have significant variations on the front.
    2. Everyone is different. Some collect multiples of each year, others go for completion of a run
    3. '71
    4. pick any year that has cellos
    5. To be consistant with the card holder. Yes, the GAI holder better protects the pack and is more aesthetically pleasing. But it's a moot point, they are gone, and had significant issues at various times during their tenure.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Do you have front and back scans of each variation for each year?
