It is SGC but probably have to jump on that.
Psa specials are brutal again.

Almost makes a Psa membership a waste. Not good Psa
collecting 1977 topps baseball in psa 9 and psa 10
I was hoping for a decent special.
Same here, lots of raw cards for grading. hope for better specials in July, although most think it won't happen until after the Nationals.
I don't think we will ever see the $5 specials for PSA. As long as they are busy the specials will remain where they are.

Not renewing my membership...7.00 bulk services or piggybacking when specials get better is the way to go.
Is the $15 "special some kind of intelligence test because the regular bulk rate for 10 cards @ 30 days is $10
If you guys are all hoarding large amounts of cards, you could try to band together and inquire about a bulk group sub. I don't think they'd knock it to $5 but it sounds like most people were just hoping for a $6 special.
That's why I've let my membership lapse. I'll wait until a decent special comes along before re-upping. In the meantime, I'll keep hoarding. With much of the post-war non-star cards selling for under $10 in PSA 8 and often PSA 9 condition, it doesn't make sense to pay $7 for bulk grading. Even $6.50 is a real stretch these days. I probably have 2,000 cards that are in the 'don't submit' bin at $6.50.
I agree with this and should have typed more to reflect the fact that not all cards are worth the bulk rate at 7.00. I just had a long conversation with an old friend last night about that very subject. With what I collect, (I'm not a dealer), I have to be extremely choosy with what I submit above about the 6.00-6.25 threshold due to the fact that most of what I collect, if it doesn't get a PSA 10 is outright throwing money away. And let's face it, almost always, you will not get a perfect submission. I have piggybacked the last couple months on 7.00 bulk submissions but they were cards that IMO, I could justify at that price. Lots of other sets I'm working on, I can't justify it right now. I hope specials get better as my "not justifiable at 7.00" pile is getting very big also.
Honestly, thats why I let my membership lapse a few years back. Used to get the occasional $5 sub, which was great, but with most of the specials being $7+ at best, it isnt really worth the cost anymore for a membership. Using bulk pricing is almost as good or piggybacking another sub
I think we are at a "Point of no return" as if PSA were to go to $5-$6 special after everyone has been waiting, they will get 4 months of submissions all at once.
The $6.00 #1 specials are history!
Later, Paul.
I thought you needed to be a member to get the bulk grading. Could someone please clarify? Thanks, BC

Does anyone know if SGC allows you to drop off cards there and pickup? I was able to do that with Beckett when I lived in Dallas, never noticed that SGC is just a couple of hours away from me. Just curious if anyone had done that before with SGC, it was nice with Beckett as it saved quite a bit on extra shipping fees...

I may be hoarding too much 80's junk wax but I like it!
I'm in the same boat as a lot of you. I too am hoarding a good number of raw cards from the 60s to early 80s that I would love to send in for grading at or under a $6.00 price point (and for reasons shared above, $6.00 may push it too far on a number of those cards). Maybe PSA will consider another pricing tier (perhaps a lower threshold value) to sweep up a lot of these cards. There appears to be a solid demand for grading of these types of cards but almost all of us seem to agree going over $6.00 a card places way too much gamble on the cards.
Matt
Looks like I may have to go with the bulk rate now. Add shipping to CA and back to DC and you are now at the 10.00 price point. I need to revisit what I submit now.
I have never submitted to SGC, but the $5 special may be too good to pass up.
Agree, I have been a member from I think 1998 and have always renewed the month of expiration. Normally weeks before it actually ends. But this is the first time I have not renewed my membership and it ended months ago. At this pace i might miss this year and just do a few 10 day orders.
It's getting difficult for set collectors to submit at these prices. If you are submitting star cards or HoF rookies, it probably doesn't matter too much, but as Jimmy indicated, it's difficult to spend $7 to grade a card that is worth $4 if it grades PSA 9.

So the bulk pricing really allows $10 per card 30-day with only 10 cards?
The SG in SGC stands for Stupid Gasket. I do love to pop those suckers open whenever given the opportunity and then commiserate with those who can't stand to look at damaged edges.
That's how I'm reading it, too, which makes it better than the monthly special rate. The 10 and 50-card bulk rates must be something new, as I recall bulk used to have a 100-card minimum.

Painful to keep seeing the pre-56 special for 4 months straight and it not switching to post-56
Regarding the membership, I think you are all missing the point. If you have 15 cards valued at around $500, it is the best deal psa has to offer. It works out to $13.26 a card for 7 day service on cards that would cost significantly more through any other service. I renew whenever I have a sub to send , a few years back when I subbed a lot , my expiration date on my membership was more than 3 years in the future.
It's been around for at least the last year and a half IIRC. I only started my PSA membership in January of 2016. I'm pretty sure the 3 levels were there at that time. I might be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.
Been running group subs for those two types of bulk subs nearly 2 years now so its at least 2 years old. I get nearly an even split of people/cards. The 30 day specials been getting more activity than the bulk 100 card specials lately with Nationals approaching.
Jeff
I've done $7 bulk the last two months for 100 or more. Seems like demand is too high and grading is too backed up for a decent priced modern special.
Anyone a gold member? Someone wanna do a group sub? I have a some cards I'd be willing to try with SGC,
I have to much S**t; so if you working on sets or are a player/team collector, send me your want list, with conditions desired. Keep in mind I have a another job so please allow me a few days to respond.
