Is is possible that this is a label error by pcgs. Its not like it hasn't happened before. I used my coinfacts app to scan the barcode on one of the ebay pictures and it worked(bringing up the same seated dollar info on the cert lookup). Most of the fake holders I have seen don't have the correct bar code pattern.

...........someone made a quick few thousands?
That's what I'm thinking.
Am I missing something here? The cert number is for an 1862 seated dollar. The $395 is the price for an 1862 gold dollar and that is what it appears to have sold for.
Most likely this was a label error and sure the new buyer may try to rip someone off, but doesn't appear the original seller did. Unless the coin is a fake.

The whole label and cert match an 1862 Seated Dollar. The seller priced the coin at what an 1862 gold dollar would sell for. Most likely a label error.

Rare label on a ultra scarce gold. Great combination for a put-a-way a rainy day coin.
Label errors are not rare. There will be a lot more of them, as the order entry people are in a rush to enter the orders and they have little knowledge of coins. The submission form only ask date and denomination, unless somebody bothered to put gold as the variety the order entry person has no way to know.

Here are a couple of the images and the cert page: http://www.pcgs.com/cert/84158644
I can't believe they are already faking the new retro holders.

Thanks. It's another lesson for a clueless collector such as myself.
You're comparing the wrong holders. You need a 6.0 Retro 3.0 holder for comparison.
But it said 3.0. Is there another type that was made?
The one you're comparing to has a different reverse, e.g. it says 3.0.
While it says 3.0, it is actually a 6.0 holder with a retro 3.0 label, like the following:

Is the pcgs price guide correct? On top of my head these gold dollars are not worth 4.5k
The higher priced ones are type 2 in this grade...
Pretty decent fake.... scary...
Agree.
It's almost time for TrueViews for every non-NCLT coin.
What ever happened to the DuPoint holograms?
interesting. So the label is correct but the plastic shape/design is in question? Thank. I am still trying to learn.
There was concern for confusion when these retro labels were introduced. A lot to stay up to speed on these days.
could this be because the sonic weld was compromised?
it's a $1 gold, not silver.
Sorry for the confusion, I was only comparing the holder not the coin since the Cert# from questionable holder contains no image from our host.
So Is the coin on fleabay the real deal or fake? Judging by the holders provided by Zions (Many thanks), I can't tell the difference.

Too late, it's been purchased.

Sure didn't like that scratch though.
BTW looking in coin facts it looks to be a label error, wrong coin number. That coin should of been 7560.58.
This so funny. It's like blind leading blinds while a lurker snatch the prize.
Congrat to the buyer!

Hmm, you're right. It has the wrong PCGS coin number: http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/6952

I see. I see. Thanks.
Yeah that what I said.
HAHAHA
Rare label on a ultra scarce gold. Great combination for a put-a-way a rainy day coin.
Sorry mechanical errors are not a good combo of anything except trouble.
I originally thought it was a fake slab but I think it is just a mislabeled real gold dollar. Mechanical or clerical error as others have said.

That is dissapointing news indeed.
