well mister investigator, if you take 1 minute to read the description you will see:

2001 Topps Gallery auto of Tracy McGrady, this is an exclusive from Topps Gallery Art, numbered 162/225 and signed exclusively by artist, add $1.00 shipping

with artist meaning the man who has drawn the card
  • That's funny...people would bid on a card autographed by an artist. It's not like it's a comic book or something, this is a card. Maybe Upper Deck CEO's should start autographing jordan cards, you can scoop up one of those too. This isn't a picaso...it's a graphic designer making a card. Can't believe they let them ruin a nice looking card by putting an auto on it. Ah well, bet you some of the people that bid on the Mcgrady think it's a TMac auto, won't they be surprised when they get a Joe Blow auto TMac card.

  • I thought the same thing when I saw Baron Davis's auto'd card. Then after I saw it was signed by the artist, I wondered why anyone would be bidding as much as they were.
  • yea cause i saw the same card *no sig* on ebay.
why would it recieve that much in bids? who cares about the person who designed the card? lol
  • PROBABLY SOMEONE WHO LIKES BOTH CARDS AND ART.

I would value the card less than the unautographed version. It's like I grabbed a card of my favourite player and autographed and numbered it.......there should be a -25 beside the card in the price guide.

  • the description says 162/225 but the actual card is 169/225

The sports card industry is losing intrest...first they start off with plane jane cards(commons) the next big thing was to collect inserts and rookies..everyone liked that until autos and Gu'ed cards came out...now these cards will be losing interest before you know it...Maybe UD wanted to have artists sign their work and maybe these cards will be the next big thing...maybe? just a theory....cards are definetly not like they used to be...i mean for instance, Cards with a piece of game used seats...who really cares about that ? All collecting is about these days is money...When GU'ed cards first came out you had to pay some pretty good money just to own one of them....now you can pay like $5-10 for one...before you know it every card is going to be GU'ed and every card in a pack will be Gu'ed.....................another one of my theories that doesnt make sense.......................lol
