E-Bay Bucks/Rebate Question

Whats the most you can get back in E-Bay Bucks as a % of a purchase. Someone told me you could get 8% back this past weekend on everything you purchased thru E-Bay if you were enrolled. Seems like a lot given they do not make 8% on sales.

Also is the savings instant or do you get a credit.

Sometimes 10%, 8% is more common tho.

You get ebucks redeemable at the end of the quarter.

Normal is 1 % back paid as quartly rebate on purchases. Special offers come every once in awhile and only to those special people they select, never me.

The max I can recall seeing is 10% recently (you'll get an email and have to sign up for the bonus amounts when they're available). The money is a rebate (max $100/transaction and I think $500/quarter) that can be used the month (quarter?) after the earning period. Even if eBay doesn't get the full percentage back on the initial transaction, to use eBay Bucks you have to buy again on eBay, and they get the fees there, too. eBay Bucks also can't be earned or used with certain categories, such as bullion.

Your gut feeling was correct - the rebate must be used in the month immediately following the quarter in which it was earned.

You are correct in that they cannot be earned in bullion category though.

You are also correct that the max has been 10% (for many years now) when they have their multiplier specials. Also correct in that each transaction is maxed at $100 ebucks and $500/quarter PER ACCOUNT (some folks have multiple accounts attached...and each one, if eligible for ebucks, can go up to that $500 max/quarter).
They recently changed the basic ebucks rebate from 2% to 1%.....will still do multipliers though.

One month to use them, after they are issued.

Also, ebucks will NOT be earned on auctions that do not use paypal. Ie, if the seller has their own system for payment and doesn't elect to opt into using paypal as an option, then no ebucks.

I could have sworn I saw that they changed it to banning bullion for earning or spending, but if that's not the case, I'm glad to hear it. An easy way to get rid of free money when I didn't have anything else to buy was to just find something close to melt.

There was some talk on that, I recall. I just know that last quarter, I did use mine to buy some gold in the bullion category (ie...I didn't earn any additional ebucks).

I haven't gotten an offer over the typical 1% in months. I usually couple the 1% with the Swagbucks 2% offer for 3% total.

You can use ebay bucks to purchase whatever you want. It is eBay giftcards that you can't use in the "bullion" category starting in 2017. It might also include the "coins" category. They must be getting pressured by uncle sam about AML rules.

You have to sign up for ebay bucks. To get the additional periodic bonus buck offers (8 to 10%) you have to opt in for special promotions once you are signed up. A search here will reveal the opt in instructions.

The % is whatever the offer is for.
The max per transaction is $100
The max per quarter is $500

You can earn eBay bucks on some bullion items - if the seller has it classified in a category other than bullion.
APMEX had a number of what I would call bullion, but listed as world coins.

I bought a lot of these when I had eBay bucks offers and got $100 in bucks
