Freedom rip of a less than popular box.

For the last 33 years, this box has been here:

It was just never part of the cool crowd. Still though. must be opened.

All of the 1970s to 1987 Fleer football action card boxes have increased quite a bit over the past few years. Anything from the 1970s is $200+...and the harder to find 1980s have approached $100 or more.

Tough thing for me here is to recognize the primary player in the pics. Campbell, Payton, Staubach, Franco, Marcus, and Dorsett will be easy based on the team, but past that, could be tough without doing the lookup.

Prices may be going up but the chicks still don't dig this set, and that is what I'm in this hobby for. Highest rated registry set is 7.95.... not overall complete set rating.... talkin' the #1 registry set is 7.95 % complete :)

Only 88 cards in the set so that is surprising. Will be fun to go through and find possible 10's though, which under ebay sold listings show many have sold more than half the grading cost :) Maybe this thread will get more folks interested in these. So far some cool action shots.

Is that Franco Harris on the box??

This set definitely had the NFL and team specific endorsements but there is absolute zero mention of a player by name here anywhere. No NFLPA ok I guess, unless someone can provide better insight.

Cards 1-24. Yes, they are cool.

I've wanted the 1976 + 1977 Fleer Football sets forever! I had them as a kid and tossed them out as I did not consider these cards "real" because they lacked names. One day I will require therefor my collection.

I absolutely LOVE those old Fleer boxes/sets.

I got a 1978 Fleer box from BBCE this past winter and cracked it before the Super Bowl. Had a blast turning $150 card value to $20. But entertainment value was > $130 for sure. I was like a little 8 year old boy again (my age in 1978). And got to open it with my current 10 year old son.

I'm sitting on 1985 and 1987 boxes that will be liberated in the not too distant future. These are cheap fun rips.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
