Coins like this often come down to two deep pocketed collectors. One of them will not be me.

you are all nuts. unless private collector is on it with a simpson, there are few buyers. the upper end of that market is soft right now on Bust dollars. The AU58+ from blue moon did NOT create any drama and that was a really nice coin.

price: below $2 million and Lipton and JA will probably buy it cheap on spec again.

Plus, the stock market and trump just made many people feel poor-unlike the last 5 months

My guess is 1.650 Mio USD = 1.4 Mio hammer.

And yes JA and Lipton might buy it.

Im not bidding, I really overspend on coins the last 2 years.

Whoever best manages their increments after $1.6M will buy it at their number. $2.0M, $ 2.1M or $2.2M depending on who's hornier. I'm offended by this number w/o "privateguy" being here to pander to. At the same number, the Garrett '95 $10 is the coolest 18th century coin in like maybe, um, forever.

It was always easier to find a '94 $1 than a '95 $10 in pocket change when we were kids.

Neither the gold Libertas' nor EPN's G. Washington pocket piece are Federal issues, and are, furthermore, not coins but medals.
Teddy's Coin is a different century, and with much less historicity and Founders' DNA on it.

Late-breaking news from one of Regulated's current research projects will prove to my brain that I'm wrong on this issue intellectually. To my brain. I will be consoled by Dave over dinner about my heart still being in the right place.

I will head for the bathroom ASAP I see the server approaching our table with the check.
