Bought this Taler in a Baltimore show a couple of years ago and traded it towards a larger purchase last year which I regretted doing. The coin is conditionally scarce and carries a very neat Athena themed design. I saw it auctioned on Ebay and repurchased it today. Funny how things transpire. The coin is very curved making imaging a bit tricky. I may try to get it redone.

1623 GA. Saxe-Middle-Weimar. Johann Ernst (1622-1626) and his 5 brothers Taler. Mintmaster: Gabriel Andrae. DAV-7532. Schnee 353, Koppe 220, Slg. Mers. 3844. Known as the "Pallas Taler", having a classical appeal featuring the standing Pallas Athene dominating the obverse. Obv: Standing Pallas with flagpole and escutcheon, left the field with a laurel wreath. Rev: Crest. A choice example with lovely patination and mint luster. NGC MS-62.
