FS 1867 Pattern 5C Judd-571 PCGS PR62
R.5
Five Cents
Aluminum
Beautiful depiction of Liberty in a feather headdress, designed by Longacre
It is believed that 100 of these were struck
Good cameo effect, moreseo on the obversese
No environmental damage
I generally don't like when people say that a coin should be graded higher than it is because that line is often abused. And I pretty much never do it. But I was very surprised this didn't grade 63. There is chatter in the fields but the cheek is pretty clean. The luster is great and the cameo is attractive. And most importantly there is no environmental damage (just slight haziness) that often plague aluminum proof issues

As you can see by my post count I am rather new to this forum and I don't post much anyway. But I have an extensive record of selling on eBay with excellent reviews. My ebay handle is the same as my username is here so please check that out if you are interested in the coin but are wary of buying from someone that is not a PCGS board veteran or well known dealer

Thank you Timbuk3
Awesome coin!
Very Cool.... 25+ years of coin collecting and I had no idea they experimented with aluminum this early... It was pricey stuff back then... I wish I was in the position to own it but am happy to have just viewed it... Thanks
Successful trades.... MichaelDixon,
