Yes I've seen this many times before going back 10 + years, as long as people bid it will continue.
Should the cert # show up in the database for a questionable authenticity finding? This one is not.
I just checked his other items and he has the following also uestionable authenticity for sale:
1951 BOWMAN MICKEY MANTLE # 253

Looks like a business for him. Submit fake cards for $20 then sell with auth? Flip.
I think your rught.
Great business if you like to be sleazy seller!.If you send the same ones in a few times, then you can substitute the card with a real bad fake too..I can't believe someone would buy them, but heck, I think the term is a sucker is born every ....new eBay listing with a 52 Topps Mantle
Work in progress - Unopened Racks/Cello/Wax with star power for Baseball, Football and Basketball
Collecting unopened 80's boxes and graded packs
I may be hoarding too much 80's junk wax but I like it!
Is "questionable authenticity" the lowest review PSA will put on a card? Will they return it with "reprint" or the like? Or is it because The submission is for a '52 Mantle they have to return their opinion of questionable authenticity? Not knocking the process, just curious.
From PSA's webste "Questionable Authenticity - This is the term used when a card appears to be counterfeit or the autograph is deemed to be unauthentic."
PSA has helped fuel this imo. They could just as easily reject the card with a better statement than Questionable Authenticity ?. How about Fake/Reprint/Counterfeit or something a lot more un-sellable.
Really they do not even need the auth? flip.
Some people on there are unfortunately such fools they will throw money away without it

Wow, over 5k for an obvious reprint. At least he only charged $2.67 to ship this worthless card.
No, all cards are assigned a cert when they are logged in but only those certs for holdered cards are found in the database.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Good to know. In this instance, all cert #s from 27154322 through 27154367 appear to be missing from the database. That suggests the intentional submission of close to 50 bad cards rather than the unwitting submission of one or two.
ALL OF HIS CARDS ARE REPRINTS PEOPLE . HE HAS 6 cards he sent for grading that you can get for a dollar ........

I suspect that "Questionable Authenticity" is essentially a "legal hedge". The copyright holder would have to determine if its counterfeit, PSA can't really say with 100% certainty anyway.
I actively collect Kirby Puckett. I have collections of Michael Jordan, Emmitt Smith, Roberto Clemente, Dwight Gooden, Tom Seaver, Errict Rhett and Evan Longoria.
Fabulous business model. Is it really any different from WaMu, LB, Enron, Ashley-Madison, late night tv ads? Ripping off uninformed people that have more money then sense.
