Their careers may have never panned out but they still have stellar rookie cards!

Some of the best looking rookie cards are of guys that never panned out. Post rookie cards that you like of guys that just never cut it in the bigs but if they had 3000 hits or 300 wins these rookies would be epic rookies.
I am going to cheat as I just realized the card that influenced this thread creation is not actually his rookie.

I know what you mean here. There are cards out there of little known players where the photo is simply amazing in one way or another. When I run across any going forward will remember this post and put a scan up. This could be quite fun if more people jump in with the 'Art of The Unknowns'
That is one of my favorites as well. For me personally, it was a triple crown winner in my first year collecting cards: Action photo, Topps trophy and a Thurman Munson cameo! Although not necessarily rookie cards, 70s Topps had a lot of great action shots of average players. Dave Roberts is another along this same theme that I really liked and wished that he had been "better" in the card world.
Also not a rookie, but a great card and another Munson cameo...
Not rookies either and breaking the them here some, but for some freakish reason Carlton Fisk ended up having quite a few of the best live game action card shots.
Favorite all time though is the 76 Bench. Bench exceeded Fonzie coolness with that one. The coolness is proven by his ability to just be standing there, yet say sooooooo much of what is going on in the game. No pics as this thread should remain isolated to the obscure unknowns of card art greatness
Both the Healy and Roberts cards above are truly great !
Awesome idea for a thread. I've always had a soft spot for these:
This image has it all: a great action shot, dust in the air and of course that famous gold Topps Rookie cup!
Like Joyner, Templeton had a pretty good career. Nothing like the guy that he was traded for, but still nothing to sneeze at. I do love the trophy cards, in case it was not obvious:
Predated Rozema was another Tiger hurler that made the ART. Very cool card for a guy who never quite performed up to the hype after his rookie season:
That Templeton card has always been a favorite.
a couple more to add
I always like catcher cards, the look so bad a$$ in their gear!!
I think I paid something like $40 for this Ben Grieve rookie card. A PSA 10 can be had for next to nothing now. He started off great and fizzled real fast.
