It all depends on the case that was opened, if buyers remorse, no, but anything else usually the seller has to pay shipping. I just had someone open a case on what they called a defective item, and I had to pay the return shipping.
One thing to remember on that (which just happened to me). If the buyer calls the item damaged or not as advertised and it arrives damaged, the buyer still gets a refund and you can't claim the damage. I had a discussion with eBay and even though they agreed that the buyer sent my item back with no protection, because they ultimately stated it was broken (which it wasn't, operator error), I had to eat the costs.
I guess I was nice to the agent, even after the case was closed in the buyers favor, because I then got a message from eBay that they had deposited the funds to cover the sale into my Paypal account. So in the end, I was quite happy, but it's scary, that a buyer can do things like this..

Yes it is scary. And I cant believe ebay makes the seller pay for shipping twice. Even if the seller did nothing wrong. I would hate to be in the bowling ball business and have to pay shipping twice. It costs an arm and a leg to ship 16 pound bowling balls.
