Happy Easter Unopened Pack Rip: 1975 Topps mini baseball wax (what else, lol)

Been waiting a while for the weather to get warmer so I could sit outside in the yard to rip a mini wax pack.

On the chopping block:

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

Decent pack with some very nicely centered cards (along with the usual OC examples in the bunch). The corners are razor sharp and color and registration are above average, too. Nothing like vintage cardboard in natural sunlight.

    Thanks, guys.

The Tiant looks really sharp. May have a winner with that one.

    Thanks for sharing Tim. That's a $10.00 card in an "8" .... $40.00 in a "9" ... but a "10" ... might be a "name your price".

    GOOD LUCK!

    STAY HEALTHY!

Thanks for Sharing Tim. A pretty decent pack for mini's. Which ones are going to be graded? The Tiant looks like a winner. Doc looks pretty good as well.

Thanks, guys! My pleasure to share these results as it had been a while since I last opened a 75 mini pack. Tough not to keep going, lol..

I'm definitely subbing the Tiant. Probably the Dock, and George Stone cards, too. Possibly the Grieve.

Thankfully it was only a 75 mini pack. Phil, please step away from the 1976 wax pack...the Easter Bunny would NOT approve!

No baseball collection is complete without a 75. What a special set. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, guys, it was my pleasure, and very difficult to stop at just one pack, lol..

Mike, I was fully aware of the "mini exception rule" to the unopened ripping prohibition, so I knew I was good, lol..

Well since I'm prepping a sub to send out tomorrow, this thread inspired me to liberate some minis too.

Typical mini pack, but at least grabbed a Winfield, albeit OC. Sizes are all over the place.

    Thanx for the rip guys.

Hiya Tim - remember when mini's were priced higher than regular cards?

Was it a major influx of product on the market that caused the change? I would guess that there's still way less mini's?

i think the minis were about double the regular pricing at one point...then the conlon find of unopened packs made it possible to easily find nice condition mini cards....but i do think overall there are still more regular sized cards vs the mini cards...just not in the high grades that people prefer nowadays

Prices for mini wax boxes did decrease significantly after the Conlon stash was auctioned off by REA, to about 1K a box as I recall. I bought several for around $800 at the time. Wish I hadn't ripped all but one of them, lol.. Then again, the backbone of my registry set in PSA 8 or better grade consists of cards I pulled and and self-submitted to PSA. Prices are still extremely strong for tougher minis in Mint 9 or higher grade.
