Elizabeth I Crown after 14 Years

Back in 2003, I had the opportunity to purchase a nice crown of Elizabeth I. However, the cost would have used up my budget for the entire year. I figured I could find another one at a lesser cost. Boy, was I wrong. They simply were not available. Finally, I came across one that was affordable. Not that nice, but my concern was having an exemplar, more than anything else, so I am fine with it. Actually, more than fine. Typical weak strike for a hammered coin.

I would love to own one. I just have a sixpence & shilling. Congrats on getting a sought after coin.

That is a VERY handsome, wholesome piece. Congratulations. Someday, I'd like to get a superb E1 crown too. A US-based dealer who seldom handles GB material, had a slabbed one a few years ago (I think it was AU50) and was asking like $12,500. I choked on the price but it was a gorgeous coin. I wish I had at least tried to negotiate a deal on it.

Very impressive piece.
An impressive, large coin, with a pleasing overall appearance despite the worn face. Looks nice in hand, I did have a chance to see it.
Awesome pick up!
