this moron sold me a "Lot of 5 sealed 1987 fleer update glossy sets" and only sent 1...when confronted with the issue, he states that the 5 sets are all included in the 1 tin...i am baffled at what a deceitful jerk this guy is being...i opened a case and i think its cut and dry in my favor....opinions?

Yeah, I think you'll win easily.
I've never opened one of those. Is the set divided into 5 "cello packs" inside the tin? Maybe that's why he's confused?
I opened one and there was only one in the tin.
i have no clue its factory sealed....but the listing was for "1987 5 set lot fleer update glossy tiffany tin factory sealed baseball"...had it listed @ $42 bin w/best offer, settled on 32 plus 3 shipping for a total of 35...these sell for less than $10 each and there are tons of listings for them and he knows it....people are such d bags ughhhh
what kind of cheapskate rips someone off for less than $30 anyways??? i told him he belongs in jail...
Tell him there's 132 cards in the set, and then ask him if he really believes there are 660 cards (132 x 5) in that little tin.
There's no way he thought that was 5 sets by any stretch of the imagination...he sells other sports related stuff and has for years....scumbag.
I've been using eBay for years and this is a first...I'm just glad it was a small transaction...the principle is still eating me alive though lol
I looked your purchase over. On the one hand he says 5 but on the other hand, there's only a picture of 1 tin. Usually, you get what's in the picture. If you don't see everything in the picture, always question it. Looks like more of a misunderstanding to me. If I were a judge in this trial, I would side with you. A lot of 5 means 5, not 1. You could complain to Ebay.
He accepted my return after many ugly messages...claims I'm "rude and ignorant", but still offered no explanation for his claim that there were a "lot of 5 sets" in that one tin...I said rude yes(with con artists like him), but I'm very educated when it comes to cards lol
Perhaps he saw I'm from WV and got the wrong idea
And it's no coincidence his original bin price was about spot on with the average price of 5 sets of these
Tell Randy Brick says hey.

Randy grew up not too far from here, as did Mr. Jerry West
My grandfather worked the coal mines in WV for years. Something like 1910-1944.
Obviously he knew what was going on. Let's assume he really did think there were five sets. Once you asked to return due to your disappointment, he should have offered a full refund. It shouldn't have taken long for him to figure out that he was wrong and once that happened, he should have been apologetic. He knew all along, no question about it.
