My First Proof Nickel Variety added to my All Varieties Showcase Set.
Back in 2012 @DIMEMAN invited me down to my first coin show in Springfield Il. I was just about to leave the show when I noticed a 1953 Proof Set so I stopped and noticed that the Quarter was the Engraved Tail Feathers so I bought the set for 180 bucks. This was the second known example of this coin and sadly it was stolen at the Anaheim Post Office on its way to our Host to be Graded.
Fast forward a couple years and I found out about the 1953 Proof Penny that had the Engraved Coat Lapel and went and checked the set I bought back in 2012 and was surprised to find that coin too. Now a couple months ago @Manorcourtman mention in a Thread here about the 1953 Proof Nickel and the engraving on the queue. Once again I checked that set I bought back in 2012 and was surprised to see the nickel was the right one.
That was the set that kept on giving. After a 2 month wait grade posted yesterday and I sure wish I would have dipped the coin before sending it in but I did not. Grade posted yesterday and still Happy to Add this coin to my ALL Variety Showcase Set..... It is the 9th one found.........
Enjoy Tom

Very cool Tommy...amazing that all 3 were together in the same set.
Wow...what a set that was! Too bad about the Quarter! That trip to Springfield was certainly worth it!
Congratulations! A plate coin too! That is Awesome! Beautiful coin. The re engraved proofs are really cool in my opinion. I have finally collected all the published nickel varieties and some unpublished ones to boot.
