PCGS is working on Sunday! How often do you forget to remove a sold coin from your Registry?

I sold a coin to a dealer in February and today I get an email from PCGS with the subject PCGS Set Registry - Removal Request
I removed it and replied to the email. I got a response 2 hours later saying Thank You.

Have you ever forgotten to remove a coin you sold from your Registry inventory?
Have you ever tried to enter a coin, but was informed it was owned by somebody else?

I've had it happen a few times now with quarters from ebay. I use the "request owner's removal" option that pops up first, and then I send PCGS an email with pictures of front and reverse of slab requesting removal 3 business days later. Usually they fix it that day or the next. Easy.

A few times I've got the notice that it's already in someone else's inventory.
I send an email as instructed, nothing.
Wait a day or so and send another email as instructed, nothing.
Tell PCGS I've sent emails to no avail and within a another day or so, all clear.

    The email gives two options:

Assuming that you no longer own this item, please remove it from your inventory within three (3) business days.
    and
If you still own this item, please email setregistry@collectors.com immediately.

So I guess if you don't reply they will remove in 3 days.

A good friend, with a remarkable set of bust halves, told me he never removes a coin he's selling. He waits for the PCGS email generated by the new owner. So much easier.

He has a point. But for me, as a buyer, it's a little annoying not to be able to immediately add a newp to my inventory and registry sets.

And, for full disclosure, as a seller I've been sloppy about this more than once.

Could any of us who started with penny boards from circ finds have ever imagined this issue?
    :/

A word to the wise registry set owners. I once missed a removal request and PCGS had to remove the coin from the set I had switched coins in. The consequence of this is PCGS will retire your set!
