NEWP: Israel 10 Lirot Victory Commemorative

This commemorative was issued following the six day war. Common coin which can be scooped up by the pound on Ebay, However these were sold in holders not geared for long preservation and quite a few were melted. The 50 Year mark is near and I found what seems to be a choice specimen which I will pickup in Baltimore.
1967, 10 Lirot. Victory Commemorative, Six Day War. 37.15mm. KM-49. Mintage: 234,461. Obv: The Western Wall. Around the lower border, to the right, the date of its restoration to Jewish worship, in Hebrew "28th day of lyar 5727" and "1967" in English. Rev: In the center, the emblem of the Israel Defence Forces, against a stylized star. Around the upper border, between the rays of the star, the word "Israel" in Arabic, Hebrew and English. Around the lower border, the face value"10 Israeli Lirot" in Hebrew. PCGS PF-68 (Finest).

One of the most appealing of Israel's commemoratives, and even more beautiful in the 100 Lirot gold version, especially in cameo.

The mintage for the proof version (which you purchased) is actually about 50,000. It is distinguished from the regular version by its "mem" appearing just to the left of the date 1967.
With this particular issue, the regular silver issue may have characteristics of a prooflike with a cameo contrast. The proof issue is always a dull, matte appearance, except in the case of the gold version.
That example has beautiful EA, and really stands out - no wonder you went for this one!
