Need help with ancient coins.

ajaanajaan Posts: 17,075 ✭✭✭✭✭

I recently came into possession of about 100 ancient coins. I really don't know much about these. I'm posting a few of them and I ask you if the attributed correctly and can you provide a ball park value figure. TIA

Julia Mamaea Sesterius - Cohen 26 approx. 25mm dia.

Claudius Sesterius BMC 192, Cohen 85cf approx. 34mm dia.

Masinissa Rex AE Kings of Micipsa, Numisia 25mm dia.

Greece B.C. struck for India. "Rare" on envelope approx. 13mm in dia.

Any help is appreciated.

Based on my experience and understanding that doing this from photos is very difficult:

    1. I do not see any red flags.
    2. Without question fake
    3. looks ok
    4. looks ok, but someone pulled the "Greek struck for India" out of the area of their imagination where light seldom shines. Might be Seleucid, but it is too low grade for me to want to guess.

Thanks. I thought #2 looked too good.
