Took a pic of my "FEELIE" box.

Raw stuff that's just fun to mess around with. Accumulated over time and no particular theme.
NO KIDDING ? :D

Sometimes ya just gotta run your hands through a pile of old coins.
I guess I....should.... stick a US coin in there.
    Just for inclusiveness. ;)

Thanks for posting as this is the side of coin collecting that never seems to get attention.

Great thread- I keep a bag of "feelies".

For those familiar with the fine work of Carl Barks in his Uncle Scrooge comics, the iconic image of Scrooge swimming in 90 meters of coins in his vaults comes to mind.

My "not-junk-junk" box of accumulated silver minors. I keep the crowns separate. I usually keep this all in a leather lens case on my desk like a security blanket :) It was an interesting exercise to sort it by ruler and/or subject.

This stuff was all purchased at or very close to melt over the last 10 years or so. I don't actively pursue it anymore. But I'll add a piece or two every couple of months.

It is nice to be able to actually touch coins, rather than just view them through a flip or slab. I went to a lecture at the ANS recently about the origins of money. Although the setting and the presenters were excellent, the highlight was being able to actually touch some of the first coins ever made.
