My 2 Cents

Appreciate the knowledge shared by so many great community members here. I have a 1864 2 cent piece in old soap box holder.
I was wondering:
1. Will this upgrade to a MS 64 or 65 at NGC?
2. Will it CAC at current grade on same holder?
3. Will it corssover to PCGS without downgrade? Any upgrade chances?
I have tried my best possible way to photograph it, its a tough dark brown coin to photo!
Thank you!

I don't see it as a 65 at either service, but could upgrade to 64 at NGC and should cross over or CAC at current grade with no problem.
Attractive coin, and yes dark copper in holders is tough to photograph!
.
From the images I see nothing wrong with the grade currently given and see no reason to think it would not cross to PCGS or gain a CAC sticker. Aside from that, I cannot tell. It does, however, appear quite nice.

If this coin was not "made red" before and retoned now, then it is a candidate to MS64. In other words, if its surface is original, then very likely, it could be stickered. If this were dipped long time ago, I won't even try to bean it. JA should be able to see thru its toning.
It's a very nice coin but not worth sending to CAC and probably not worth the cost of resubmitting either. I have a 64BN and yours appears to be just as pretty (and yours has more red too). However, a 64BN sells for about $40 more on average than a 63, but obviously a coin that looks like a 64 should sell for more than 63 money.
