my sense is that right now it's a buyers market overall, even at the BST.
For items that are relatively easy to find, I agree. It would be interesting to compare results with selling via the BST and via Ebay. A bunch of very lustrous classic commems did well when recently sold via Ebay, and I am not sure that the seller would have done as well if he had listed them on the BST.
Another issue concerns whether the BST sellers are using this venue instead of offering the coins to the people from whom they were purchased.

Reading a lot of replies, and my experience on the BST and I've used it quite a bit through the years. Not much since I've sold most of what I have. And I rarely lower my price, and those that know me I don't care for the negotiation game. Usually you want it or not.
Oh yes I do indeed sell a lot of nice coins through the years. If I don't sell here real quick II pull it and sell to a dealer much easier. Or dealers I know. So If you are looking for sheet prices please feel free to move on, and save your offer as well.
Wow, lol, well retail at the show was under sheet Saturday... you shoulda been there and bought a couple 100k worth...

What I see here on the BST is that many great coins will sell for strong money, but average or below average coins will sell for a discount or not sell at all. There are unrealistic asking prices and unrealistic buy offers here.
I used to list new purchases here for a bit then those that didn't sell I would put on ebay and more often than not sell for higher prices than originally asked here. Now it seems like a waste of time. Sure it may be that the coins that I have for sale aren't what many here are looking for, but it also seems to me that members here are only interested in a rip. Got an offer the other day more than 25% back of published bluesheet for a GSA. (which I know are priced high, but my consignor refuses to take a loss).

I think many BST sellers price their coins at full retail or slightly higherin the hopes that someone makes a counter offer that's reasonable rather than low-ball.
But I don't have the nerve to offer 20% < their asking price.
I think it's mainly a matter regarding the quality of offerings, or overly optimistic ask prices on the BST... not a reflection of the market in general.
I've sold things on the BST off & on for a few years. Until recently, my prices almost always seemed to work for folks. Over the last 6-9 months, no takers unless I sell at a steep discount.
It's easy to buy coins. Hard to sell coins. This has always been true, but more and more true lately.
I think a lot of folks take a stab at getting what they had into the coin. The new reality is prices are lower in most series especially in collector grades. They eventually capitulate.

I agree. Human nature is try to avoid losses. I see no harm in trying. If everyone sold their coins at 10% back of bid, there would be no five-figure common date toned Morgan dollars.

"seeing more and more on BST,listings with price reduced ,,Is coin business getting worse?"
No, they were priced too high.
I've paid a little more for a few coins off the BST.
Sometimes the coin will mean more to me coming from someone I like or respect here.
