I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is an unwritten rule on this board to consolidate all your items for sale into one thread.

This is my first day...you're the second to share the "unwritten" rule. I searched high and low for rules, and there's zilch! Interesting the forum gives you points for activity, yet activity is discouraged...not sure I get it.

I understand, it would be much simpler if a set of rules was stuck at the top.

The other unwritten rule is only one bump per day to get to the top.

I hope you are successful selling your items.

Activity is not discouraged, but hyperactivity is (among people who know better, not meaning you). Welcome to the forum, it's a bunch of nice folks. I'm glad you are here.

    Kind regards,

  • That is one impressive package Bruce! Very nice!

Just curious. Why didn't the people making this package make the 38' a 69 sate as well? Seems weird to have 4 69's, then a 66.

    Still beautiful though!

No idea...these are so limited, it's hard to find anything about them let alone their thought process...I asked myself the same question.

Gotcha...thank you for the input. I need to learn how you guys let people know of new items for sale if their all just buried in one thread. Do you change the tread description each time, or just hope people start checking what you have on occasion? Obviously key words will help when people search for something specific, but I have a fair amount of very limited items that people may not even know exist, let alone search for.

I did make 2 separate posts in the "U.S. Coin Forum" as I had two very distinct questions....not sure how anyone would even know to help if they weren't noted as the thread description. I guess only ask one question per day?

I just need to spend more time here, and I'll get the hang of it.

    Thank you!

Seems some members see it is more important to 1st gotcha new members in BST, rather than simply explain rules of the forum.
Instead of being a bearer of bad news , a welcome new members with open arms will increase viability of new blood coming to forum

    +1

Just saw this on another thread...what does +1 mean?

  • astroratastrorat Posts: 9,221 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Welcome to the Boards!

+1 seems to mostly be used for an "I agree" response to a thread. Some will use it to bump a thread to the top of the page (1 bump per day is the requested limit for "self-bumping"). Another shorthand is "ttt" which is short for "to the top."

Rules for selling used to be a sticky at the top of the page, but no longer. There was a rash of abusers who, regardless of being told, continued to break the rules ... which were "unwritten" and then "written."

    Regardless ... that's a nice Fraser set!

I think I have the answer to that question. To date, PCGS has not graded even one 1938-D Buffalo nickel in MS69. That being said, as common as 1938-D Buffalo nickels are, the examples that have been graded by PCGS as MS68 sell for $12,000 and up!

Good question, and the first question I asked myself when I bought it. I acquired a large collection of many limited items recently, and actually acquired 2 of these. There's very limited info, even on PCGS's site...I'm assuming it's because there was only 75 made. I bought them from the son who inherited them...his father bought tons of bullion from dealers that would call him, knowing he had plenty of money. They often called him with limited items such as these, and he bought plenty.

Unfortunately I don't know any more than that...just a cool set if it turns your crank! You would have 1 or 2 of the 75 made!
