Magazine collectors question: Is there a master list somewhere for a paticular player?

Mantle for example.

Is there a master list of all sports magazine he has been on the cover of?

such as Sport, Sports illustrated, baseball digest and even time and Life.

    Unlikely, unless you are talking about only the major publication titles. There are so many different magazines out there, cataloging them would be a gigantic pain in the butt. For example, I collect Garvey magazine/periodical covers and have found them with him pictured on cable TV guides, medical, religious, lifestyle, airplane, etc.

    Maybe we could start a thread for our favorite player and
    have forum members add to the thread with what they have.
    I use to collect Ripken Jr. items and have about 25-30 different
    magazines with him on the cover. This by no means is even
    close to being complete. Its been years since I've added
    anything. Other interests have distracted me.

    I am looking to buy some Mantle mags. Preferably no label

    I am a lifelong Yankee fan and he id definitely da man.

    I know of one Life mag. cover. IIRC it was titled "Mantles Woe". A headshot photo of him. The article inside discusses his health issues. He does look like he is hurting in the cover photo. I think the issue came out in the mid sixties (1965?). I had the issue, but sold it some 20 years ago. Beckett Monthly price guide had a special issue of the Mick with a headshot of him on the cover. Late 90's I believe. I have it somewhere.

    To add to my above post. He also had a comic book I believe back in the late 90's.
