What is the best way to sell RAW 70's/80's/90's HOF'ers and "star" cards?
So, after a 4-5 hiatus from the hobby, I've returned, but mostly just to liquidate my collection. I've unloaded most of the graded stuff, but I've got a few 800-count boxes, and two binders of "stars"/HOF'ers from 70's/80's/early 90's (mostly baseball and basketball) that I don't know what to do with. The majority of these cards are probably NM-MT or MT, perhaps a handful of PSA 10 quality. I don't particularly have the patience to spend the time to squeeze out every last nickel of whatever value they may have, but at the same time, I don't want to give them away.
Should I even try to get some understanding of "book value" and sell them as player and/or team lots (the $37 for 15-days of access to Beckett price guides seem pricey) or just put the lot on Craigslist for a couple hundred $ and hope for the best?
Curious to hear what may have worked for others.

You could try comc and let them do the work for you.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I wouldn't waste your time with "bv." Just get an idea for what they're worth by looking at real-time sales on completed ebay sales.
Your dollar to dollar value for sale on the 70s stuff might increase if you can build a complete set in NM-MT condition. I've been doing that with loads of sharp commons and adding what's missing. Now I'm running out of space for these darn 800 count boxes. I'd recommend trying to complete any set which has attractive key cards. You'd be able to unload more at once instead of giving up the valuable stars and being stuck with worthless penny cards.
The "squeeze every nickel/don't give away" dilemma already puts you at a disadvantage because you still have some kind of emotional attachment. When I struggle with this concept I inevitably buy more cards.
