1968 Illinois Sesquicentennial silver medal / SCD
Struck in silver, approximately 1 ounce @ 40mm (silver dollar size)
Designed by Kennedy half dollar designer Gilroy Roberts (note his initials beneath conestoga wagon)
Deep black & white frosted cameo, high relief, and in original octagonal container. PR68 or 69 DCAM by my grading.
Mintage of 5,000 of which this piece is edge-marked "1788". Surviving mintage probably a tiny fraction of that.
Note Illinois' bicentennial is next year!

Why thank you, @epcjimi1, it is a fascinating and topical piece with Illinois' bicentennial just around the corner!

And it's still available. Bump for Friday!

Bump for Monday with price drop. This is very cool piece and a great addition to Kennedy and Franklin half collectors!
