Finally No more redemptions!!!!!!!!

Upper Deck recently launched a new online initiative that should make the nightmare delays associated with redemption cards a thing of the past.

The new program, which will be initiated with the upcoming 2002 UD Piece of History Football product, makes the process as easy as a click of the mouse for collectors. The key to the program is a hidden serial number that hobbyists must scratch to reveal, similar to the one utilized last season to great effect with the Upper Deck e-card inserts.

According to company officials, the decision to make a dramatic change in the system came as a result of collector input.

"The process needed to become more time efficient for our customers," says UD spokesman Jake Gonzales.

"The whole process is simplified. Our customers will no longer need to mail-in their redemption cards," he adds. "They can immediately submit their redemption to Upper Deck on-line and as soon as it's entered, the [request] will appear in our system and be fulfilled."

This program allows collectors to create an online account that contains a complete record of their redemption cards, e-card portfolio and memorabilia purchases. Hobbyists can use the site to check the status of their cards, including real time shipping information.

Collectors can go online at upperdeck.com to register for their account.
