Martin Luther Rescued from the Smelter. Probably.

I do love my junk. This Dutch hockey puck is full of history and art, despite it being the worse for age. Seriously. I wonder if some of my collection survived a World War II bombing run.

    Nice medal.

Possibly some Roman Catholic bishop with a sense of humor kept it on his desk as a paperweight.

I pick these things up at ebay and more traditional auctions. The stuff that nobody wants. The Luther medal actually was from the recent Baldwin's Argentum auction. They did not even bother to image the reverse. Described as scuffed and bruised, considering my cost, I probably won it at reserve. A beautiful "EF" version went for 10x my cost. As for me, it is the history as much as the art. So, a good fit in my collection.
