Nascar 50th Anniversary 50 uncut collector cards + 10 signatures with cert of authenticity

I'm looking for any valuing information regarding the piece listed above.
It has the signatures of the following drivers: Richard Petty, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Darrell Waltrip, Cale Yarborough, Dale Earnhardt Sr. Lee Petty, Junior Johnson, Ned Jarret, and Herb Thomas.

This framed piece also includes the certificate of authenticity on the back from Optimum Group.

Any information provided would be much appreciated, I have searched a rediculous amount of sites and there is very little information about these uncut cards.

Also included On the front is the limited run count of 357 out of 500.

Wow, that is a very cool piece.

  • I collected Nascar stuff in the late 90's until the passing of E.Sr. The only thing close was those Anniversary Foils, but those were separated, not a sheet. There is a new product with the driver's heads autographed on several sites (thinking 6-700 on them)
Yes indeed a cool item, as for myself I am done and over with Nascar and prices have fallen. In fact, I been selling a few items in between from my collection. Out of all of them, I love the Looney Toons Dale Sr. Litho I have hanging.

  • Alright well thanks for the info I appreciate it, like I said I'm really just trying gather any info I can. I don't have a ton of knowledge on NASCAR memorabilia.

Would you happen to know of any other good places to post this for info/value estimate?

Seems to me that it was either a giveaway piece or was created for employees through Goodyear. My advice is to price certified autographs of each driver and average them out.Add them together and add about 15% to get an average value. You could also search for shops near Charlotte and get an appraisal.Whatever you do don't sell it cheap.

    BST references several

I have one of these too... No idea on value but figure it's worth at least an Earnhardt and Gordon signature.

  • Thank you guys, that definitely gives me a couple starting points.

    bigzestee,
As for where, yes it was a promotional/giveaway piece if I remember correctly. It was given to me by my dad who worked in the tire industry.
Definitely seems like a good jumping off point for average value though thanks.

Unusual Set of Autographed NASCAR Trading Cards Up for Bid

Grandview, MO (February 6, 2006) One very unique set of autographed trading cards will be up for grabs at GoMotorBids.com February 19-26.

This auction, brought to you by GoMotorBids, the premier online auction site specializing in automotive and racing collectibles, is for an extremely rare, uncut sheet of 50 commemorative cards, just as they came off the printing press, which are personally autographed by 10 of NASCAR's greatest legends - Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Lee Petty, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Darrell Waltrip, Cale Yarborough, Junior Johnson, Dale Jarrett, and Herb Thomas.

In 1998, the Goodyear Tire Company produced a special set of commemorative NASCAR 50th Anniversary trading cards. These cards featured an artist's rendering of every NASCAR Champion from 1948-1997. The cards were available at various Goodyear Tire outlets and dealers.

Its extremely possible that all of the drivers depicted on these cards will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, making this auction a once-in-a-lifetime chance to obtain a rare piece of NASCAR history.

This set was produced to commemorate NASCAR's 50th anniversary and Goodyear's 100 anniversary. The actual cards are packaged in a car shaped tin which is pretty cool. Not sure of the manufacturer but I believe it to be Traks. From what I remember, the uncut sheets were made separate and special from the regular issue so they could autographed. Not sure how these sheets were distributed, but I would suspect that they were sent to dealers and probably made available via contests and giveaways. The last one of these I saw was in Gatlinburg, TN a couple of years ago. The card shop owner had $700 dollars on it which I thought was too high for this piece.
I do want to clear up a few facts:
1 - Not all of these drivers are NASCAR Hall of Famers and several will never be in the NHOF.
2 - Not all of these drivers are NASCAR Cup champions. The set mainly consists of former Cup champions and Daytona 500 champions with a few top drivers sprinkled in plus the founder of NASCAR, Big Bill France.
3 - All of these autographs are common, including Earnhardt with Earnhardt commanding the highest price.

As far as the autographs are concerned, they are all NASCAR Hall of Famers with three of them deceased. (Earnhardt, Lee Petty and Herb Thomas). I would value the entire piece at about $300 to $400 dollars, taking into account the value of the autographs plus the framing.

  • Okay that's good to know. Thank you for the info.
