Sales variation with Fr.1366 50c note
There was an Fr. 1366 note up at our club auction earlier that looked like a nice AU to me. There seem to be large swings in values on this note: https://currency.ha.com/itm/fractional-currency/fr-1366-50c-third-issue-justice-pmg-about-uncirculated-55-epq/a/3504-16263.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Here is one that sold for multiples of a common issue: https://currency.ha.com/itm/fractional-currency/third-issue/fr-1366-milton-3r5010j-50-third-issue-justice-no-loop-pcgs-about-new-53ppq/a/3541-18382.s?ic3=ViewItem-Auction-Archive-PreviousPricesHeritage-081514
What to look for on these? I bid the uncertified Fr. 1366 to $180, a "tight wad" buyer got the note, someone not known for going high on anything, so I figure I must have missed something.

The reason for the wide swing in values of the two notes that you show is that the second note is a no-loop variety (very rare) and the first note shown is a regular variety.

looks like it sold for a little less than raw note plus grading fee...if it turns out to be a 58epq
It looks like it isn't just the Friedberg # as a reason for value variations, if you track price swings on that.
