Long Lost Binders of GOO from the closet. What to do with ?

No HOFers within. Strictly player collector stuff only. No chance spending time selling 'player collector lots' or 'team lots' on ebay.

There are no options here outside of trashing. (yeah binders and sheets worth 30 bucks). Goodwill. mentioned before, is a BUSINESS with owners raking in cash. Possibly Salvation Army. Child Hospital - no, would simply be dumping trash on 'em.

NO choice. Dumpster. Unless an astute individual out there has a thought, which doesn't make THEM feel better than the cause.

Might help if everyone knew approximately where you were. An interested party may be within driving distance. I know I'd be up for a relatively short road trip for something like that.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

I'd probably give them to the local cub scout troop... even if they are not worth much (or anything), some of the kids may have fun with them and they could at least use the albums for their own cards. Might even get a couple of new collectors into the hobby from that.

The cub scout troop sounds to be a fun and worthwhile idea. Thanks :)

I just have issue falling for the large scale charity scams and other out there. Cub Scouts, could as you said, get more in to cards, or use the binders etc for their already in progress collecting. Very nice idea. Worse thing there is they could have fun tossing individual cards in to the camp fire during an outing ;)

heritage, nope I don't think. That pic shows what's left after sorting through double that of binders and separating what is considered forever unfashionable for future wantness by anyone. Nothing later than 1994.

Mopar please ping where you are at. If local, for a small 'charitable donation' to ME :) all yours.

What about giving them to some nice kids who might live in your neighborhood? Look down your block each way. Any worthwhile recipients within walking distance?

  • If there's any 87-92s, you could mail them to someone you hate. They'd open the box and AGH THEY'RE ATTACKING!

milwrvn. It's been played. Every single box I've opened for the last 4 years have had the remnants of the box placed on top of the community mailbox for the kids around here to take. I actually think they are sick of it :) For the first 4 years, parents would ask if I would like anything, and 6 packs of beer would show up. Lately though, it's like the kids got older and now think I'm some freak :) There are times and places to try and rid this stuff.

I would bring it to a local card show and a dealer will offer you something.
I would sell it at my next garage sale. I would give it to a neice or nephew. I would sell it here in the BST forum. Don't trash them, that would be a sin.

Put them all out for $5 at a tag sale. I guarantee they will sell. I always pick up stuff like that. Even if it is junk it is fun to go trough to see if you find any hidden gems they forgot about. I have found Jeter and Ripkin rookies this way.
