There are several incarnations of these guys on ebay, which is a literal minefield these days when it comes to raw wax. Some are better than others but the results are always the same. They refund with no questions asked in an effort to preserve misleadingly positive feedback.

  • Do you by chance no any sellers who are legit for ungraded wax packs?

Stay away from raintele. He has been selling resealed packs for a while . His feedback is now at 93.9%. At what point does eBay ban bad sellers?

Can't you leave feedback even if you get a full refund?

I don't think you can since the sell was in essence voided and the seller did the right thing by issuing a refund.

I left raintele negative feedback after I got a refund.

Not worth the risk to buy ungraded wax on ebay. You might get a win every now and then, but my last two purchases were both reseals....rather pay extra and buy from BBCE or other reputable dealers

IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

When prices on unopened wax/rack/cello/box are too good to be true...it is. There are still deals to be had out there, but they are coming harder and harder to find. My wife and I do a lot of picking and I've always dreamed that I was going to stumble on some farmer's boxes of unopened material, from back when their parents had a general store in the 50s.

  • If an eBay seller of a resealed pack or box refuses to refund you your money, would eBay step in and refund your money? Another major problem with resealed packs and boxes is that the current seller may not be the one to have resealed them - he may have bought them a while back from the scammer that originally resealed the packs/boxes. So would the seller really be fully responsible? Usually pack(s) and/or box(es) have changed hands numerous times over the years, with the actual scammer being unknown throughout the provenance of ownership. This questions may be better suited for the Supreme Court.

Yes, file a SNAD claim with ebay stating that the packs were not authentic as described and follow the ebay steps to receive a full refund including shipping of your purchase price. It doesn't matter if the seller is the one who resealed the packs or not.

They ban the good sellers. I had an account closed because of a few late shipments caused by USPS delays. I had Perfect seller rating and great feedback stating fast shipping. eBay didn’t care that my post office didn’t scan tracking quick enough.

I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach)

Would Ebay ever NOT not step in to help if a seller refused to refund under these circumstances? Otherwise, if your intent is to open them anyways, what would be the risk? Either you got a legit pack and possible hits or you simply get your money back?

I’m not sure how easy the process is if you open the packs. At that point the item is not being returned as sold. I’m sure you would still end up getting the refund these days, however.
